Registered Nurse, Surgical CVICU, Night Shift - VUH
About the role
Vanderbilt University Medical Center is a community dedicated to advancing health and wellness through teaching, discovery, and patient care. The Surgical CVICU (5 North / Moving to 6 Critical Care Tower on March 2026) is a high-acuity unit caring for critically ill adult patients following complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including heart and lung transplant populations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements
- Relevant work experience preferred.
- Stepdown or high-acuity acute care experience considered.
- Strong interest in cardiovascular and surgical critical care.
Qualifications
- LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure.
- Relevant work experience preferred.
- Experience in gathering pertinent clinical data.
- Ability to adapt to changes to patient care and area needs.
