Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

About the role

Join a dedicated nursing team in a Medical Surgical Orthopedic unit, providing direct patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Apply standards of medical-surgical nursing to enhance patient care and quality of life.
• Establish effective relationships and advocate for patients and families.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans using the nursing process.
• Assess physical, cultural, social, and emotional factors influencing health.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and set goals.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers for informed decision-making.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and comfort measures.
• Foster a positive work environment and serve as a mentor to colleagues and students.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to ensure age-specific and clinical needs are met.
• Perform point-of-care testing and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent.
• Current RN licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No prior experience required.

Physical and technical skills

• Constant communication, standing, walking, lifting, reaching, vision, hearing, and occasional patient handling.
