About the Role
Provides and evaluates nursing care for correctional patients, ensuring compliance with recognized standards and provider instructions.
Responsibilities
- Plans, delivers, documents, and assesses patient care
- Supervises nursing staff
- Observes and reports patient conditions
- Maintains accurate care records
- Upholds organizational values and customer service standards
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current RN licensure in Ohio
- Basic Life Support certification or obtained within 90 days
- Strong knowledge of nursing theory, medical sciences, and aseptic techniques
- Proficiency with nursing instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Ability to foster positive working relationships
- High physical coordination and dexterity
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Correctional health care experience
- Certifications such as CCN or CCHP
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk
- Lift 250-300 pounds with assistance
- Push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance
- Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, chemicals, and cleaning agents
