About the role
This role involves providing high-quality patient-centered care in a Critical Care Step Down Unit with a focus on patients with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, DKA, and Sepsis.
Responsibilities
- Utilize skills such as EKG interpretation, central line care, managing rescue Bi-PAP, high flow oxygen
- Assist with bedside procedures such as endoscopies and bronchoscopies
- Collaborate with Patient Care Nursing Assistants, Nurse Interns, providers, and therapy staff to deliver comprehensive care
- Apply critical thinking, delegating, and effective time management to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Unit environment
- 14 beds equipped with advanced technology including patient lifts, hands-free communication, virtual whiteboards, and telemetry monitoring
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Current Ohio RN licensure
- Certifications in BLS and ACLS within specified timeframes
- Prior RN experience required for PRN roles
Preferred qualifications
- BSN
- Professional certifications recognized by Magnet standards
