About the role
The 17 bed medical intensive care unit delivers exceptional care to a population consisting of the most medically complex cardiac, sepsis, respiratory, and renal patients. This unit has strong partnerships with a dedicated medical resident team and state of the art equipment, including the cutting-edge EICU, which features around-the-clock simultaneous audio and video monitoring of ICU patients all from one central command center.
Responsibilities
- Play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Illinois
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferably in Critical Care
