REGISTERED NURSE, Med/Tele Unit - Full Time Nights

Northern Nevada Medical Center is a 124-bed acute care hospital located on 23 hillside acres in Sparks, Nevada. We offer a full-time Registered Nurse opportunity on our Medical/Telemetry Unit with a convenient night shift schedule. Relocation assistance is available.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Medical/Telemetry Nurse (RN) to provide safe and compassionate care to patients in a medical/telemetry environment. Patient Centered Care principles will guide all nursing practices, and Service Excellence standards must be demonstrated at all times.

Responsibilities

• Involve the patient and family in care assessment, addressing psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population-specific, and diversity needs.
• Construct and implement the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill.
• Integrate direct and indirect patient care activities related to diagnosis and co-morbidities.
• Coordinate the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients.
• Develop goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans tailored to individual patient and family needs.
• Complete hourly rounds with purpose to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs (e.g., pain management, repositioning, toileting).
• Proactively evaluate the environment to ensure it is patient-friendly and safe.
• Collaborate with the patient’s designated care partner to meet educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
• Follow communication practices that minimize risks during handoffs and transitions in care using the SBAR process.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certificates.
• One year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting.
