Registered Nurse - Med Tele (5100) Nights

About the Role

Join the new Mercy Hospital Fort Smith Dedicated Education Unit, an 18-bed unit focused on teaching upcoming graduate nurses the fundamental skills necessary to be successful. This unit cares for Medical Telemetry patients with a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio (day shift only). Each nurse acts as a preceptor to two senior-level nursing students who provide total care for the four patients. A clinical rotation preceptor is also available for support and oversight of the students.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a preceptor to two senior-level nursing students, guiding them in the total care of four Medical Telemetry patients.
• Collaborate with a clinical rotation preceptor for student support and oversight.
• Provide high-quality patient care in a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio environment.
• Engage in an innovative educational setting to foster best practices in nursing.

Requirements

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure; must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certification (or completion within probationary period).
• ACLS and BLS certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
• At least 1 year of experience as an RN (required for sign-on bonus eligibility).
