About the Role

Coordinates the nursing care for patients by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating. Participates in patient and family teaching. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the Critical Care Unit.

Schedule

Full-time nights with weekend and holiday rotation. Shift starts at 6:45 PM and ends at 7:00 AM.

FTE: 0.940000 | Bargaining Unit: CWA Local 1133 | Overtime: Non-exempt

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the Critical Care Unit.
  • Provide patient and family teaching.
  • Demonstrate leadership by collaborating with nursing and ancillary teams.
  • Maintain professional nursing practice standards.
  • Actively participate in productivity, staffing, and healthcare technology innovations.
  • Serve as a super-user/trainer for healthcare technology.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (currently registered in New York State).
  • BLS certification and revalidation per AHA standards.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and competence in current healthcare technology.
  • Certification in a specific area preferred.

The graduate nurse is a beginning practitioner who gains experience under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.
