Registered Nurse - Med/Surg, Days

Registered Nurse (Non-Exempt) position at Mercy Hospital Logan County, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Guthrie, Oklahoma. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week on a day shift (7am-7pm) with rotating weekends and holidays. Sign-on bonus: $15,000 for new graduates, up to $20,000 for experienced nurses.

About the role

The Med/Surg department provides care to Observation, Inpatient, and Swing patients. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1. Nursing staff collaborate closely with the Therapy department to deliver coordinated care and facilitate patients' return to pre-hospitalization lifestyles.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to Med/Surg patients in a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio environment.
• Work collaboratively with the Therapy department to coordinate patient care.
• Perform duties requiring physical demands such as pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift.
• Grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform nursing duties.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure; must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (training provided during orientation if not already certified).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• Other unit-specific certifications as required or acquisition within the department's required timeframe.
