About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to women and their families throughout childbirth, including neonatal care. They support the entire labor and postpartum process, ensuring a seamless experience and promoting mother-baby bonding.
Responsibilities
- Conducts maternal and neonatal evaluations, fetal monitoring, and pain management.
- Develops individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Offers emotional support, assists with deliveries, and prepares sterile fields.
- Monitors mothers and newborns, supports breastfeeding, and educates families during postpartum and recovery.
- Provides routine and specialized care for newborns, including those in Level II NICU, with monitoring, medication administration, and family education.
- Administers medications accurately and maintains detailed records.
- Educates families on labor, postpartum, and newborn care; works with multidisciplinary teams.
- Responds effectively to fetal distress, postpartum hemorrhage, and neonatal emergencies.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
- Current RN license in Tennessee.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring within 90 days.
- Minimum of 2 years recent labor and delivery experience, including surgical assisting.
- Experience in acute care settings preferred.
