Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery - Night Shift

About the role

Provides professional nursing care in a Labor & Delivery setting, utilizing critical thinking to assess patient conditions, recognize changes, plan, evaluate, and document care. Delegates tasks appropriately and collaborates with the healthcare team to meet unit goals.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and monitor progress
• Recognize and respond to clinical changes
• Record pertinent observations and care plans
• Delegate appropriate tasks to staff members
• Follow hospital policies and state regulations
• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care during night shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays
• Utilize critical thinking and teamwork to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with licensing, certification, and hospital policies

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; Bachelor’s Degree preferred if Associate Degree is held
• Current Illinois RN licensure
• Valid BLS certification; ACLS, C-EFM, and NRP certifications within specified timeframes
• Labor and delivery RN experience preferred
