Responsibilities
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical condition
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment
- Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure
- Perform general nursing duties in all Maternal Child Health departments with adequate supervision
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts
- Participate in performance improvement activities
- Act as the patient’s advocate, as circumstances require
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent
- Current license to practice as a registered Nurse in the State of Nevada
- Current BLS required
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (within 90 days of hire)
- AWHONN Fetal monitoring validation within 6 months of hire
- ACLS must be obtained within 3 months of Hire/Transfer
- Pass National League of Nursing medication test with score of 80%
- Minimum 1-year recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience, in a comparable or more active unit or completion of Labor and Delivery course at Southern Hills Hospital, including surgical suite
- Proficient in Labor and Delivery nursing procedures and skills, including fetal monitoring interpretation
- Proficiency in newborn, maternal/child, and labor and delivery, childbearing women (11-55 years), nursing procedures and skills, including assessment
