Overview
The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. Responsibilities include supervising and providing care to patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.

The Radiology & IR Departments are located in the basement of the hospital. These areas serve outpatient and inpatient patients who require procedures that use medical imaging to help diagnose and treat certain problems. The departments care for infants and adults. There are two primary nursing roles: one group prepares and recovers patients following procedures, while another assists interventional radiologists and others during the procedures. Some nurses may also work at MD Anderson for scheduled radiologic cases.
Requirements
- 2 years of Critical Care experience required
- Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing
- Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse) upon hire
- Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) upon hire
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) upon hire
- Current PALS Certification (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 3 months of employment
Schedule
Three (3) 6A-6:30P shifts per six (6) week period, plus an on-call rotation. The IR Lab is open Monday through Friday.
