Role Overview: Provides direct nursing care in a specialized 23-bed cardiac stepdown unit managing patients recovering from structural cardiac procedures and those with primary cardiac diagnoses. Key Responsibilities: Implement and monitor patient care plans, communicate patient conditions, coordinate multidisciplinary care, follow physician and nursing orders, and assist with discharge planning. Qualifications: Valid RN licensure from the Alabama Board of Nursing, BLS certification within 30 days, and graduation from an accredited nursing program. Skills & Qualities: Team-oriented, adaptable, detail-focused, with skills in ECG interpretation and certification in BCLS and ACLS. Work Environment: Operates on a pattern rotation schedule, working every fourth weekend, in a unit requiring close patient monitoring and skilled nursing interventions.
