Registered Nurse II - ICU

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

About the role

This position is located in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA).

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care using the nursing process.
• Deliver safe and effective care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Perform job duties while standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted; perform patient transfers and repositioning.
• Work in various physical conditions, including temperature extremes, confined spaces, and elevated areas.
• Maintain physical, sensory, and environmental requirements as outlined.
• Manage stressful situations, work rotating shifts, and overtime as required.

Requirements

• Associate degree in nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or American Red Cross equivalent).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Ability to meet physical and mental demands, including vision, hearing, and sensory function.
• Selected positions may require olfactory sensory function and respirator use.

Pay

Hourly pay grade: Health-28.

Schedule

Scheduled weekly hours: 36. Rotating shifts and overtime as required.
