About the role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a designated nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process to make informed decisions, partnering with patients and families to promote health, restore, or maintain well-being. The role combines caring, compassion, knowledge, and integrity to deliver safe, quality care that respects patient autonomy and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review diagnostic data relevant to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with leadership and other disciplines to identify and implement improvements.
• Guide and intervene during life-threatening situations.
• Assess the effectiveness of interventions and outcomes.
• Implement innovative processes to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
• Communicate effectively with team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Support ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years experience in the current or similar setting. Proficiency in computer literacy. Valid RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
