Registered Nurse - GIG Critical Care

About the Role

Mercy is seeking experienced Critical Care Registered Nurses for our GIG Nursing Program, offering flexibility and premium shift opportunities. Choose shifts that fit your lifestyle while providing exceptional care to critically ill patients. Participation requires self-scheduling a minimum number of hours, maintaining flexibility for short-notice staffing needs, and accepting the possibility of last-minute shift cancellations. GIG positions do not guarantee hours and are the first subject to cancellation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and other Critical Care Units.
• Self-schedule shifts while meeting minimum hour requirements.
• Maintain flexibility for short-notice staffing needs.
• Adapt to potential last-minute shift cancellations.

Requirements

• Minimum two (2) years of recent bedside RN experience in Critical Care/ICU within the last 2 years.
• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact state licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLCS) certifications.
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat while performing patient care duties.

Skills

• Epic EMR experience (preferred).

Pay

• $40/hour base rate with variable shift incentives.

Schedule

• Flexible day and night shifts available.
• 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts.
• Minimum requirement: 1 shift every 90 days.
• W-2 employee status.
