About the role

Mercy GIG Nursing Program offers flexible, incentivized Registered Nurse positions in Medical-Surgical nursing. Pick up shifts that fit your schedule while providing high-quality patient care across Mercy facilities. Participation requires self-scheduling a minimum number of hours, maintaining flexibility for short-notice staffing needs, and accepting the possibility of last-minute shift cancellations. GIG positions do not guarantee hours and are the first positions subject to cancellation.

Pay

• $40/hour base rate
• Variable shift incentives

Schedule

• 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts available
• Flexible day and night shift opportunities
• Minimum 1 shift every 90 days

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care in Medical-Surgical nursing across Mercy facilities. Maintain flexibility for short-notice staffing needs and accept the possibility of last-minute shift cancellations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program (BSN preferred)
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact state licensure
• Minimum one (1) year of recent bedside RN experience in Medical-Surgical nursing within the last 3 years
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat while performing patient care duties
