Registered Nurse - GIG Critical Care

Mercy is seeking experienced Critical Care Registered Nurses looking for flexibility and premium shift opportunities. Join our GIG Nursing Program and choose shifts that work best for your lifestyle while providing exceptional care to critically ill patients. Participation requires nurses to self-schedule a minimum number of hours, maintain flexibility for short-notice staffing needs, and accept the possibility of last-minute shift cancellations. GIG positions do not guarantee hours and are the first positions subject to cancellation.

Position Details

• Base rate: $40/hour
• Variable shift incentives
• W-2 employee status
• Minimum 1 shift every 90 days
• 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts available
• Flexible day and night shift opportunities

Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Units

Qualifications

Required Education

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.

Preferred Education

• BSN

Licensure

• Must maintain a current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact state licensure and meet all applicable state board of nursing requirements.

Experience

• Minimum two (2) years of recent bedside RN experience in Critical Care/ICU within the last 2 years.
• Preferred: Epic EMR experience

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds regularly
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat while performing patient care duties
