Summerlin Hospital is a 496-bed facility offering emergency services, a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month, a Children’s Medical Center with a NICU, pediatric ICU, and separate pediatric ER. The hospital provides advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women’s health, and oncology care. Accredited as a Chest Pain with PCI facility and a Primary Stroke Center, Summerlin Hospital has received multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines program.

About the role

Provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Offer professional leadership and support to the healthcare team, with Patient Centered Care as the foundation for all nursing care. Oversee and guide employees under your supervision while demonstrating Service Excellence standards at all times.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; completion of a Specialty course or equivalent within 6 months of hire.
  • BSN preferred.
  • One-year acute care experience or successful completion of an approved specialty course within 6 months of hire.
  • Current RN license in the State of Nevada.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Current ACLS Certification (adult patients), PALS Certification (pediatric patients), or NRP Certification (Neonatal patients) as required by department.
  • Other certifications as required by facility, specialty, or department.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Notes

An RN graduate is a nurse who has completed a course of study at a school of nursing and is eligible for the NCLEX. The RN graduate performs under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse or RN designee. The Nevada State Board of Nursing must grant an interim RN license.
