About the Role

The Non-Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse performs patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director of the assigned department for their shift. This role provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for patient care, supporting the mission of Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The Float Pool RN delivers care for acutely ill patients in units as determined by the Float Pool agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director.
  • Provide therapeutic and administrative services to support patient care.
  • Care for acutely ill patients across designated units per Float Pool agreement.
  • Collaborate with leadership and participate in hospital councils and national nursing initiatives to influence patient care and nursing practices.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or BSN degree.
  • Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • BLS certification required upon hire.
  • ACLS certification required within 2 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.

Schedule

Part-time, night shifts (2 x 12-hour shifts plus rotating weekends).

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services, including:

  • Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center.
  • Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center.
  • Premier Women’s & Children’s healthcare services, including a Maternal Fetal Health Center for critically ill mothers and babies.
  • Antepartum unit, labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU.
  • Four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs in Olathe and Shawnee.
