About the role

Coordinates and provides family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members. This is an MNA contract position.

Our Minneapolis medical/surgical float team is an integral part of nursing services and provides valuable resources to the hospital system. Team members apply specific skill sets to four departments and provide additional resources as needs are identified. This approach offers the flexibility of working in different units while learning new skills every day. The float team is extremely knowledgeable, resourceful, and flexible with the care they provide and units they support. We value teamwork, open communication, safety, and respect. Responsibilities

• Provide family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents using the nursing process.
• Perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in collaboration with other health team members.
• Apply specific skill sets across four departments and adapt to additional resource needs as identified.
• Support multiple units with flexibility, resourcefulness, and a commitment to teamwork and open communication.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Minnesota RN licensure.
• Current BLS certification.
• One (1) year of nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Current Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification required or obtained during orientation.
• Based upon the unit, additional certification(s) may be required within 6 months of employment.

Pay

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hours per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard.
