Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Night

About the role

Provides professional nursing care in the Emergency Department during night shifts, following hospital policies and the Illinois Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient conditions and recognize changes in status
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Delegate tasks to appropriate staff members
• Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet unit goals
• Apply critical thinking in emergency situations
• Monitor patient progress and record observations accurately
• Ensure quality care and patient safety and comfort
• Maintain compliance with certification requirements including CPR, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS

Requirements

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing (if only an Associate Degree, must obtain a Bachelor’s Degree within five years)
• 1+ years of emergency department experience
• Current Illinois RN license
• CPR certification
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications (must be acquired within specified timeframes)
