About the Role

Registered Nurse responsible for patient assessment, care planning, documentation, and evaluation in a psychiatric setting. Perform professional nursing duties while ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with departments for patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, providing thorough handoffs.
• Interact with patients, families, and healthcare providers to gather data and develop treatment plans that address physical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Participate in setting and achieving departmental goals, contribute to program improvements, and assist in staff selection and orientation.
• Attend training, serve as a role model, and educate community groups on mental health topics.
• Supervise direct patient care as needed, working within budget constraints.

Requirements

• Nursing degree.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• CPR certification.
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Commitment to confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Psychiatric experience.
• Knowledge of abnormal psychology.
