Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse at Garnet Health Medical Center, you will uphold the standards of professional nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and guided by:

  • The New York State Nurse Practice Act

Your role will include:

  • Providing a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing
  • Addressing the range of human experiences and responses to health and illness within physical and social environments
  • Integrating assessment data with patient knowledge
  • Applying scientific knowledge to diagnosis and treatment through judgment and critical thinking
  • Advancing professional nursing knowledge through scholarly inquiry
  • Influencing social and public policy
  • Ensuring safe, quality, and evidence-based practice

You will work toward an improved healthcare system by delivering safe, timely, effective, equitable, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Active New York State Nursing License in good standing
  • Baccalaureate (preferred), Master’s, or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing
  • American Nurses Association endorsed Certifications or Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses Certification (Preferred, based on certification specialty hours of work requirement)
  • 1-year Critical Care or SDU experience or successful completion of the GHMC ICU Fellowship program

Training

  • ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer
  • MERT Training within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • CRRT Training within 1 year of hire or transfer (CRRT Refresher every two years thereafter)
  • TNCC required within 1 year for all new hires and transfers
  • ECCO & ENA Modules required within 9 months or demonstrated competency
  • Hospital Crisis Intervention Training Course upon hire or transfer and annually thereafter

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $56.58 - $62.71 hourly. This range complies with New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements and does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. Compensation is determined based on factors such as location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity.
