About the role
The Specialty Float Critical Care RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Critical Care nursing areas.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients upon arrival to determine the severity of their condition and prioritize care accordingly; follow standardized triage protocols to quickly identify patients who require immediate attention due to life-threatening conditions.
- Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries, including administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain.
- Assist with stabilizing patients and initiating life-saving interventions in cases of severe illness or trauma, including advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and trauma care.
- Manage high-stress and rapidly changing situations effectively; remain calm, focused, and decisive while providing care to multiple patients simultaneously during busy shifts or mass casualty events.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.

Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current (preferred).
- Previous Acute Care hospital experience (preferred).
- Ventilator Management experience (preferred).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred).

Pay
Sign-on bonus of $20,000 available for qualified candidates. Eligibility and payout terms apply; details discussed during the interview process.
