Registered Nurse Coordinator - Transport Air
About the Role
Registered Nurse Coordinators provide safe and quality treatment to all patients, assist medical management teams, and ensure the safe, effective, and productive treatment of patients. They serve as team leaders, mentoring employees and teaching relevant skills as needed, and act as lead managers in the absence of higher management. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, patients, and their families. Nurse Coordinators must be willing to work weekends, nights, and be on-call occasionally.
They should have general knowledge of medical software applications and business-oriented office software, work independently, troubleshoot problems effectively, and adhere to the standards of the American Health Association. The role requires multitasking, working well under pressure, and prior experience in patient management, employee scheduling, and coordinating with doctors for patient treatment. All certifications must be kept up-to-date and in compliance with medical laws.
Responsibilities
- Perform and/or coordinate clinical activities in accordance with patient care plans.
- Admit patients, perform office and phone triage, verify documentation accuracy, and delegate patients to staff.
- Track and assess patient conditions and assist in the development and adjustment of care plans.
- Educate patients and families on procedures, treatment options, and symptom management.
- Provide oversight of patient schedules, evaluate priorities, direct staff, and adjust schedules as conditions change.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
- BLS certification required.
- RN License in the state of employment required.
- Compact License required.
Schedule
- 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts.
- Full-time position.
