Registered Nurse Coordinator - Bone Marrow Transplant

About the role

The Nurse Coordinator for Bone Marrow Transplant oversees patient care coordination, maintains accurate records, and ensures compliance with quality standards. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, manage the transplant process from screening to post-transplant care, and act as a patient advocate with insurance providers. The role is performed in a clinical setting, with a focus on patient safety and quality care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of bone marrow transplant procedures, including assessments, stem cell collection, and transplant activities.
• Maintain comprehensive patient records and complete reports for the Bone Marrow Transplant Registry.
• Ensure quality management and regulatory compliance within the transplant program.
• Review policies, assist in budget development, and engage in quality improvement activities.
• Educate and mentor care providers, fostering team development and performance.

Qualifications

• BSN required, with 2 years of RN experience.
• Certifications in chemotherapy and biotherapy within 3 months of hire; Oncology Nursing Certification (ONCC) required after hours are completed.
