REGISTERED NURSE CI **REPOST**

Main Purpose of Job: This position functions at the full performance level, providing direct nursing care to severely emotionally disabled adolescents on a residential treatment unit that is family driven and youth guided. This position also provides clinical and administrative supervision to RNs, LPNs, and non-licensed staff.

The position requires a full understanding of mental health nursing practices and experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to severely emotionally disabled adolescents.
• Supervise RNs, LPNs, and non-licensed staff in the provision of care.
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and plan care.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding patient care.

Requirements

• Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses.
• No prior experience required.
• Experience working in mental health nursing is preferred.
• Experience with crisis intervention and/or de-escalation is desired.

Qualifications

• A current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
• Employees may be required to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Employees may be required to complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.

• Strong clinical skills in mental health nursing.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage stress and handle crisis situations.
• Proficient in using electronic health records and other relevant software.
