Registered Nurse - CCU - $20k Sign-on Incentive (2026-0639)

About the role

The position is responsible for providing safe, quality care to patients in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at VMC Main Campus. The role requires a BSN and current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington. Applicants must also have current BLS certification and a minimum of one year of experience in Critical Care or Emergency Services.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, guides, directs, and facilitates workflow on the unit.
• Makes staff assignments based on patient acuity and staff competency.
• Mentors staff and float personnel, integrating them into the unit's culture.
• Functions as a leader and resource for clinical staff.
• Maintains awareness of Joint Commission standards and practices.
• Evaluates and provides adequate coverage for breaks.
• Maintains fiscal responsibility by monitoring and adjusting staffing during shifts.
• Communicates and collaborates with bed placement and the clinical resource to ensure clinical placement is expedited.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Washington.
• Successful completion of a graduate nurse residency program or six months' experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Two years' practice in clinical nursing/leadership in area of responsibility preferred.
• Unit specific prerequisites available upon request.
