Registered Nurse- Case Management
About the Role
The Nurse Senior is a Registered Nurse (RN) who works in a collaborative environment at St. Mary's Medical Center to plan and provide professional nursing services and standards of practice in accordance with level of experience and education, state board of nursing, and established policies and procedures. The RN integrates the art, science, leadership, and knowledge of nursing clinical practice through relationship-centered, compassionate, ethical, and respectful direct and indirect healthcare services.
This role is full-time, day shift. Practice is guided by the nursing process and policy/procedure/standards. The Nurse Senior maintains a focused area of expertise for care, program, or provides interventions or knowledge within niche areas of care. They advance professional and shared governance, collaborate inter- and intra-professionally, delegate to others to advance care, and assume an expanded role with increased responsibility. May lead a small team and serve as a unit/service/program nursing practice mentor, identifying learning needs of others.
Responsibilities
- Plan and provide professional nursing services in accordance with experience, education, and established policies.
- Maintain expertise in a focused area of care or program.
- Advance professional and shared governance through collaboration.
- Delegate tasks to advance patient care.
- Assume expanded responsibilities and leadership roles.
- Mentor nursing practice within the unit, service, or program.
- Identify and address learning needs of others.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid RN licensure authorized by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing or Compact State.
- Valid driver’s license where required by assignment.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Specialty credentialing and educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area.
- Certifications aligned with area of responsibility.
