About the role
The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for managing a group of patients, providing direct care through the nursing process, and utilizing current nursing trends, technology, and resources within the institution's philosophy. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous learning to deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Performing unit-specific duties
- Implementing procedures
- Maintaining accurate documentation
- Conducting initial patient assessments
- Developing and modifying care plans
- Ensuring safety
- Communicating effectively with the healthcare team
- Caring for CVMS patients, including post-op CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients
- Maintaining a clean work environment
Qualifications
- Valid RN license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
- BLS certification within 30 days
- ACLS certification within 1 year
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of nursing procedures
- Knowledge of safety protocols
- Ability to identify learning needs
- Ability to contribute to professional development
