Role Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a cardiac unit.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments of physical, social, and psychological status, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Develop individualized care plans involving patients and families, including education and support planning.
- Coordinate and delegate care to the interdisciplinary team, ensuring effective management of resources and priorities.
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions, modify care plans as needed, and document accurately.
- Promote professionalism by adhering to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, and maintaining timely documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid RN license
- BLS certification
- Strong foundation in patient care, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork
- Preferred: BSN and experience with cardiac and pulmonary patients
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to lift, transfer, and transport patients and supplies
- For some roles, ability to drive
