Responsibilities
- Implement the Nursing Process based on established Standards of Practice.
- Ensure all patient care policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with Garnet Health Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and the New York State Licensure requirements.
- Exhibit critical thinking, effectively organize and prioritize, and implement evidence-based nursing.

Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum Experience: One year of medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Required Certification/Registration:
- Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a professional nurse.
- Successful completion of BLS Provider Course.
- Must attend hospital crisis training program within 3 months of hire or transfer and annually thereafter.
- ANCC-Psych/MH preferred.
- Maintains all required certifications for the areas assigned.
- Physical Requirements:
- Medium to light work requiring lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching are required.
- Position requires 20% sitting and 80% standing or walking.
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken and written word is required.
- Working Conditions:
- Works in a clean, well-lit, heated, or ventilated facility with no routine exposure to hazards.
- Occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise may result from performance of duties.
- Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
- Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
- Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
- Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility.
- Ability to multi-task and demonstrate sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.
- May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
The range for the role is $50.44–$77.58 hourly. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity).
