Responsibilities

• Implement the Nursing Process based on established Standards of Practice.
• Ensure all patient care policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with Garnet Health Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and the New York State Licensure requirements.
• Exhibit critical thinking, effectively organize and prioritize, and implement evidence-based nursing.
• Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and diverse team culture that encourages professional growth and the sharing of exceptional talents, skills, and perspectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum Experience: One year of medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Required Certification/Registration:
  • Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a professional nurse.
  • Successful completion of BLS Provider Course.
  • Must attend hospital crisis training program within 3 months of hire or transfer and annually thereafter.
  • ANCC-Psych/MH preferred.
  • Maintains all required certifications for the areas assigned.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Medium to light work requiring lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching are required.
  • Position requires 20% sitting and 80% standing or walking.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken and written word is required.
• Working Conditions:
  • Works in a clean, well-lit, heated, or ventilated facility with no routine exposure to hazards.
  • Occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise may result from performance of duties.
  • Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
  • Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
  • Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
  • Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.
  • May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.

The range for the role is $50.44–$77.58 hourly. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity).
