About the role
This position provides clinical leadership in an acute inpatient setting, focusing on patient/family-centered care. The nurse demonstrates clinical competency through evidence-based practices across assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, integrating safety, cost containment, and quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team, updating them based on patient condition changes.
- Provide direct patient care, delegate tasks, monitor care quality, and ensure safety.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Emphasize effective communication, patient education, advocacy, and adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred) or nursing diploma with RN licensure.
- Minimum of one year of RN experience or completion of a recognized nurse residency program; LPN experience may be considered for internal candidates.
- Current RN license recognized by the NCSBN Compact or applicable state licensing.
- Strong knowledge of nursing standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and teaching skills.
- Commitment to professional development and maintaining licensure.
Key Duties
- Assess patient condition and prioritize nursing care.
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans.
- Coordinate with healthcare team to ensure quality and safety.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise care delivery.
- Monitor patient progress and outcomes, adjusting plans as needed.
- Provide patient education and advocate for patient needs.
- Participate in quality improvement and compliance activities.
