Role Overview
Provides clinical leadership in an acute inpatient setting, ensuring patient/family-centered care through evidence-based nursing practices.
Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive patient assessments, develops and updates individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Delivers direct patient care within the scope of practice, delegates tasks appropriately, and monitors care quality and safety.
- Utilizes performance indicators and participates in quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
- Educates patients and families, assessing learning needs and promoting participation in care processes.
- Maintains professional licensure, adheres to organizational policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards (TJC, CMS, SC DPH).
- Documents accurately and communicates effectively with the healthcare team about patient status and care plans.
- Acts as an advocate for patients, ensuring continuity of care and proper referrals for post-discharge needs.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred.
- One year of RN experience or completion of a residency program or equivalent LPN experience.
- Current RN license recognized by NCSBN Compact or applicable state licensure.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaboration skills.
This role involves night shifts and is located in a medical/surgical unit. It emphasizes professional growth, compliance, and quality-focused patient care.
