About the role
We are seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist specializing in EEG and epilepsy monitoring. This role involves performing high-quality EEGs, including awake, asleep, video EEGs, and portable studies, following ACNS guidelines and departmental policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform EEG studies (awake, asleep, video EEGs, and portable studies) in accordance with ACNS guidelines and departmental policies.
- Calibrate and adjust EEG equipment to ensure accurate recordings.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening situations during studies.
- Maintain and troubleshoot neurodiagnostic equipment.
- Support staff development and training initiatives.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Completion of a Neurodiagnostic program (preferred).
- Certification by ABRET or equivalent credentialing body (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- No prior experience necessary, though neurodiagnostic experience is advantageous.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of EEG interpretation and seizure identification.
Schedule
This role supports departmental operations during day shifts.
