Job Summary
We are currently seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our team at HCA Florida Blake Hospital. As our Clinical Dietitian, you will coordinate all phases of nutrition care including nutrition assessment, care planning, monitoring, education and counseling of hospitalized patients and outpatients in a variety of settings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or comparable major.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Dietitian in an acute care environment OR successful completion of coordinated program or dietetic internship of not less than 900 hours under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.
- Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the Florida Board of Dietetics and Nutrition; Registered dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
What you will do in this role
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in planning and organizing the nutritional care of patients.
- Assess patient nutritional needs, diet restrictions, etc. to develop and implement dietary care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
- Develop measurable short and long-term nutritional goals and evaluate to desired outcomes.
- Ensure the accurate calculation of nutritional needs based upon individual therapeutic needs.
- Ensure documentation in medical records is timely, accurate and in accordance with PCD guidelines.
- Monitor and inspect meal service for conformance to prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance.
- Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve patient outcomes that will positively affect the overall patient experience.
