Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and monitor nutritional services and medical nutrition therapy for patients in an acute psychiatric hospital setting.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, dietary staff, and other interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient health outcomes while ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accrediting body standards.
• Conduct dietary audits three times per week, participate in monthly inspections, attend in-services, and provide dietary consults as needed.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
• At least one year of clinical nutrition experience.
• Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN).
• CPR certification (current) and Handle with Care (prior to completion of orientation).

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a mental healthcare hospital environment focusing on serving the dietary needs of those experiencing human behavior, psychiatry, psychology, or other mental healthcare situations.
