Registered Dietitian - Outpatient
About the Role
Cleveland Clinic’s Digestive Disease & Surgery Institute (DDSI) provides patients with the most advanced level of medical and surgical care, primarily focused on the safe and proven treatment of disorders related to the gastrointestinal tract. DDSI unites all specialists in one unique, fully integrated model of care aimed at optimizing the patient experience. Registered Dietitians at Cleveland Clinic help develop personal diet plans to support patients in achieving their wellness goals, whether for chronic disease prevention, sports nutrition, weight management, or healthy aging.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients.
- Implement nutritional care plans, communicate plans, establish a follow-up system, and maintain documentation.
- Write changes for diet orders, initiate nutrient intake assessments, assess patients for nutritional deficiencies, evaluate fluids and electrolytes, review laboratory and clinical progress notes, and inform physicians of their patients’ nutritional status and need for diet changes.
- Create and revise education materials, participate in program development, and develop, implement, and market services.
- Support the dietetic internship program as a supervised practice rotation preceptor and class instructor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
- Current licensure to practice dietetics in the state (LD).
- Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD).
- One year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in clinical nutrition (successful completion of a Dietetic Internship Program may substitute for this requirement).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to navigate extensively to provide services to a large number of patients throughout the hospital.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer entry.
- Physical ability to measure and weigh patients.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Schedule
This position follows a standard schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Pay
The pay range for new hires in this role is $52,270.00 to $79,727.50 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. This range does not include additional pay practices such as shift differentials or overtime, nor does it reflect the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
