Registered Dietitian II

About the Role

The Registered Dietitian II provides individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients, serving as a clinical leader in a specialized area. They collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize nutrition care and improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients for nutritional deficiencies and perform physical exams.
• Evaluate nutritional needs, including calories, protein, fluids, and electrolytes, to diagnose malnutrition.
• Manage nutrition plans for patients on oral diets, tube feedings, or parenteral nutrition, and write related orders.
• Provide counseling and education on disease management through nutrition therapy.
• Collaborate with providers and coordinate follow-up and documentation.
• Support educational programs and serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns and technicians.
• Contribute to departmental initiatives, committees, and projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Completion of a Dietetic Internship or Credentialed Program.
• Current Ohio Licensed Dietitian and active RD/RDN certification.
• Board Certification as a Nutrition Support Clinician or Certified Specialist in Pediatrics within two years.
• At least one year of clinical nutrition experience; or completion of an equivalent internship.

• Follows standard precautions and uses personal protective equipment as required.
