Registered Dietitian
About the role
We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our team at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, the nation's leading provider of healthcare services. In this role, you will coordinate all phases of nutrition care, including assessment, care planning, monitoring, education, and counseling for hospitalized patients and outpatients in various settings. You will also support performance improvement plans and comply with JCAHO and other regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in planning and organizing the nutritional care of patients.
- Assess patient nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and develop and implement dietary care plans.
- Provide nutritional counseling and develop measurable short- and long-term nutritional goals.
- Evaluate outcomes to ensure desired results are achieved.
- Accurately calculate nutritional needs based on individual therapeutic requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in medical records in accordance with PCD guidelines.
- Monitor and inspect meal service for conformance to prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance.
- Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve outcomes and enhance the patient experience.
- Contribute to a culture of patient-centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or a comparable major.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in an acute care environment or successful completion of a coordinated program or dietetic internship of not less than 900 hours under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.
- Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) by the Florida Board of Dietetics and Nutrition.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Candidates eligible for registration may be hired with the understanding that registration will be achieved within 90 days of hire.
