About the role

The Consulting Dietitian provides overall nutrition care to patients on an as-needed basis, ensuring nutritional needs are met and all documentation related to the patient’s nutritional status is complete and accurate. Plans and administers activities related to resident/patient nutrition care in compliance with Aramark, regulatory agencies, and client standards. Establishes and maintains effective multidisciplinary relationships to provide a unified approach to patient/resident care.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts patient nutrition assessment on assigned patient population.
  • Manages the development and implementation plan for nutrition intervention in accordance with the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Conducts rounding to drive patient satisfaction.
  • Assesses educational needs and the presence of barriers to learning.
  • Provides nutrition counseling for individuals and groups, adapting teaching methods to meet patient learning needs.
  • Utilizes assessment and evaluation techniques considering age-specific populations, cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns.
  • Evaluates achievement of learning objectives by the patient and/or family.
  • Provides appropriate follow-ups in accordance with the patient’s treatment goals, referring patients for outpatient counseling, community, or home health services as needed.
  • Delivers strong operational performance by executing Aramark and regulatory agency standards, monitoring operations, and completing assessments to ensure optimal nutrition care and meal service.
  • Works cooperatively with medical staff and food/nutrition services staff to ensure conformance to prescribed nutrition care orders.
  • Provides education ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Documents the nutrition care plan in patients’ medical records, including assessment, diagnosis, plan, implementation, and progress toward goals.
  • Maintains clinical productivity standards and accurate record keeping of daily clinical activities, including scheduling and billing information.
  • Demonstrates accountability for the proper use of patients’ protected health information.
  • Adapts to changing job duties or new assignments as needed to meet commitments.

Requirements

  • Requires at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with coursework accredited or approved by appropriate nutrition and dietetics agencies.
  • Must earn and maintain applicable certifications, registrations, licenses, credentials, and continuing education requirements by accredited local agencies.
  • Formal eligibility to practice dietetics in the applicable geographic location.

Conditions of employment may include working in busy hospital and outpatient settings, such as patient rooms, floors, and kitchen/serving areas.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $45.00 to $48.00.
