About the role
Seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian (RD) for a Skilled Nursing Facility in New York City.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor residents' nutritional status, developing care plans and providing recommendations to medical staff.
- Evaluate residents' needs for nutrition support, skin integrity, and weight management.
- Coordinate procurement of nutrition supplies and oral supplements with vendors and departments.
- Monitor meal service adherence to diet modifications.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on nutrition and diet adjustments.
- Review and update dietary care plans for effectiveness and compliance.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to review residents' care plans regularly.
- Work with Speech-Language Pathologists to ensure appropriate diets for residents with dysphagia.
- Ensure menu changes follow policies and regulations, updating software daily.
- Supervise dietary staff and conduct audits to ensure quality nutrition care.
- Maintain compliance with weight monitoring regulations and communicate regularly with team members.
Qualifications
- Registered Dietitian certification.
- Experience in nursing home settings.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of state and federal guidelines.
- Proficiency with EMR and menu software.
