About the role

At The Place for Children with Autism, we're a team dedicated to helping children with autism thrive. As a Behavior Therapist, you'll work 1:1 with children aged 2-8 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), teaching them communication, social, and daily living skills. You'll implement individualized therapy plans, collect data, and collaborate with BCBAs and families.

Responsibilities

  • Work 1:1 with children aged 2-8 with ASD, teaching them communication, social, and daily living skills.
  • Implement individualized therapy programs designed by BCBAs, collect data, and participate in team discussions around progress and strategy.
  • Engage children through play, movement, and laughter, promoting skill-building and growth.
  • Partner with clients and their families in celebrating wins, problem-solving challenges, and promoting each child’s growth.

Requirements

  • Energetic team player with the ability to bend, squat, lift up to 30 pounds, and keep pace with energetic young learners.
  • Collaborative and ready to take on multiple tasks and decisions at once.
  • Positive role model with a commitment to safety, keeping the therapy environment organized, safe, and welcoming.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and hold a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Accessible to reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and insurance, and able to travel to other clinics as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School or Associate’s Degree: $17.05 – $23.00 per hour, with $1.00 per hour increases every six months (based on your starting level at hire).
  • Master’s Degree: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour.
