About the role
As a Behavior Technician, you will work one-on-one with children with autism, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors. Children can be unpredictable and potentially confrontational, so resilience is essential. This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans
- Teach communication, social, and daily living skills
- Reduce interfering behaviors using evidence-based techniques
- Work collaboratively with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCCA) and team
Requirements
- Passionate about helping children with autism
- Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team
- 18+ years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid Certification, and Tuberculosis test (if not completed in the last year)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
- Must obtain an RBT Certification from the BACB
Pay
This role starts between $17 - $20 per hour, with increases based on experience, certification level, and highest level of education.
