Position Details

Position: Full-Time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Schedule: 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., approximately 37.5 hours per week
Location: District-wide; will support wherever behavioral support is needed within the district
Role: District RBT Floater
Supervision: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Scope of Services

As a District Floater, the RBT will provide flexible behavioral support across the district based on student and classroom needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct 1:1 behavioral support to identified students.
  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans and other treatment plans as directed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Provide classroom-based behavioral support to promote student engagement and participation.
  • Collect and accurately record behavioral and skill-acquisition data.
  • Implement reinforcement procedures and other evidence-based ABA strategies as directed by the BCBA.
  • Support students during transitions, classroom activities, and other school-based routines.
  • Provide de-escalation support in accordance with established behavioral protocols and training.
  • Communicate with BCBAs, teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff regarding student progress and behavioral needs.
  • Adjust support based on the needs of individual students, classrooms, and school locations throughout the district.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation.
  • Follow all clinical, ethical, school, and organizational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) developed and directed by the BCBA.
  • Provide direct one-on-one and classroom-based ABA therapy and behavioral support.
  • Aid students in appropriately engaging and participating in classroom activities.
  • Support students in developing communication, social, academic, adaptive, and self-management skills.
  • Collect and record data related to student behavior, skill acquisition, and progress.
  • Implement reinforcement procedures and other evidence-based behavioral strategies.
  • Provide appropriate de-escalation and behavioral support when needed.
  • Communicate regularly with BCBAs, teachers, and other school staff regarding student progress and treatment plans.
  • Participate in classroom observations, team meetings, and treatment-planning discussions as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Follow BCBA direction and individualized student behavior plans consistently.
  • Provide support across different school locations within the district as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with children with autism and/or other developmental disabilities.
  • Experience providing ABA services or behavioral support preferred.
  • Experience working in an educational or classroom setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow clinical direction and consistently implement individualized behavior plans.
  • Ability to collect and document behavioral data accurately.
  • Ability to work flexibly across different classrooms and school locations.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries in a school environment.
  • Experience with crisis behavior management preferred.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, respectful, and individualized support to students.
