About the role
The RVP of Sales, Central, is responsible for all aspects of sales planning, strategy implementation and execution within the Central Division. This position collaborates with distributor partners including Reyes Beverage Group and Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits. The role is essential for developing overall sales strategies, priorities, and performance measures for the company. The VP Sales leads, directs and develops a best-in-class sales team, ensuring sales plan attainment, continuous improvement, and collaborative relationships with wholesale partners. The VP Sales, Central champions company culture, ensuring all team members feel valued, empowered, and supported in achieving their objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi-year strategy that accelerates business in the region.
- Develop and lead the implementation of the annual sales plan for the Central Division to achieve depletions, distribution, sales and distributor revenue, and shipment goals.
- Develop and implement distributor programs based on overall brand initiatives.
- Provide direction, coaching, training, and high-level management to direct reports and extended team across multiple states in the Central Division.
- Control the Divisional P&L to ensure annual profit targets are achieved.
- Increase efficiency of the Central Division by implementing processes and procedures that maximize return on sales investment.
- Set and clearly communicate annual, quarterly and monthly strategic priorities that support goal attainment.
- Create a sense of urgency within the team to deliver the plan.
- Hold self and each team member accountable for performance and create a winning team culture.
- Monitor the regional sales climate and serve as the subject matter expert on localized trends and developments related to competitive actions, future growth, and new sales development ideas.
- Ensure strict adherence to price strategies and look for opportunities to optimize profit.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Leadership capabilities to recruit, train, develop and motivate the Central Division’s Sales Team.
- Ability to interact with and present to buyers and key distributor personnel.
- Knowledge of and ability to dissect consumer data such as Circana to gain a better understanding of business opportunities and develop presentations.
- Superior organizational skills; detail oriented; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and in a dynamic, high-energy, team-oriented atmosphere.
- Proven sales leader in retail with customer headquarters call experience.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in wine & spirits sales with proven results.
- History of achieving sales growth, profit, and volume.
- Detailed, organized, persuasive; ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of customer service and responsiveness to immediate demands.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to build compelling and creative sales presentations with Sales, Marketing, and Consumer Insights; provide features and benefits.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects.
- Knowledge of consumer/shopper behavior in Western Division business by premise type.
- Knowledge of retail category management concepts.
- High level of wine knowledge.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
