About the role

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is seeking a full-time Regional Trainer to join our team. The position is Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate in-person and virtual support/assistance to programs to ensure staff training needs are met and collaborate with other regional trainers to ensure a cohesive training system is being provided to the CCS program.
  • Develop and facilitate in-person and virtual support/assistance to programs to ensure foster parent training needs are met and collaborate with other regional trainers to ensure a cohesive training system is being provided to the CCS program.
  • Conduct program-wide training needs assessment and identify skill or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed for designated coverage area.
  • Participate in the training and staff development organization-wide initiatives.
  • Work in conjunction with staff to address local development needs of foster parents to support the CCS Network efforts toward development and implementation of a foster parent recruitment and retention model.
  • Keep accurate, organized training records and monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain data reports to assist with agency-wide training efforts.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individuals in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field required.
  • Master’s degree in social work or related human services field preferred.
  • Child Welfare Employee Licensure (CWEL) preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in human or social services or other related field required.
  • Experience interacting positively and professionally with internal and external resources required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, effectively manage time and deliver results on time.
  • Experience assessing, interpreting, thinking critically and creatively to employ effective problem-solving to the organization’s challenges preferred.
  • Must possess a high degree of organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities including the aptitude to prioritize multiple functions and tasks.
  • General understanding of the social services landscape in Illinois, such as Foster Care System, Human Services, and Medicaid, etc. preferred.
  • Ability to use and/or adapt to and learn technology-based tools such as pc/computers, software and applications, including HER’s and social media, collaborative applications, and other job-related tools as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
