About the Role

This position is accountable for managing technical needs and product and field support of all current and new product technologies for the ErgonArmor Business Unit (EABU). Responsibilities include managing technical deliverables between the Business Unit (Management, Operations, and Sales and Marketing), third-party manufacturers, and Paragon Technical Services, Inc. (PTSi).

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely technical support and communication to PCR plants producing crack sealants, aggregate-filled repair mastics, bulk roofing, and waterproofing through formulation support, troubleshooting, product QA/QC, investigations into quality failures, audits, and facilitation of systems.
  • Facilitate operational consistency with assets and operational procedures across the plant network.
  • Manage the formulation process with Paragon and Crafco MQT to optimize plant efficiency and raw material costs.
  • Oversee the Quality Management system to ensure compliance with Crafco, PPM, and Agency Plan requirements.
  • Work with Sales and Technical Marketing to provide feedback on field performance of all products and applications.
  • Collaborate with supply and procurement in the evaluation and selection of raw materials for facilities.
  • Establish new technological processes to benchmark assets, chemistry, and raw materials available inside and outside the asphalt industry.
  • Ensure facilities are fully supported through routine interaction with operations, marketing, and technical marketing.
  • Partner with local labs and Engineering departments to drive new products and technologies from concept through commercialization.
  • Manage the deployment of plant assets, chemistry, and technologies.
  • Responsible for scaling up processes from lab to plant production.
  • Participate in product and process evaluation, development, and execution of strategic technology initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development, presentation, and implementation of new ideas, concepts, assets, and chemistries for A&E management consideration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Significant asphalt technology experience may be considered in lieu of a technical degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree; 5 years of experience required without a degree.
  • Experience with formulating and supporting polymer-modified asphalt, particularly in roofing, waterproofing, crack sealant, and mastic, is preferred.
  • Strong management, communication, and computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
  • Must be located near a major airport hub for ease of transportation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver’s license.
